Trainers
- Seattle DogWorks – realizes that their clients are real people who live real, busy, and sometimes hectic lives. There approach takes a candid, realistic look at client needs to build a system of training that’s right for them. This approach does have a secondary element of obedience, but its primary focuses are manners and emotional soundness. In other words, sit, stay, and lie down are great and are somewhat useful, but more relevant challenges are things like jumping on visitors, pulling on leash, surfing the counters, jumping on furniture when not invited, barking, bursting through the door, etc. The trainers at Seattle Dog Works frequently find themselves saying, “I don’t care if my dog can sit if he eats my turkey off the table!”
- Seattle Humane Society – are committed to keeping people and pets together. To do so they offer a wide array of training courses and workshops. From Kitten Kindergarten and Pet First Aid to Advanced Dog Agility, we are sure to have something for you and your furry family member!
- Shade’s Dog Training – Clear leadership plus positive motivation equals reliable obedience. “I strive to learn and implement POSITIVE ways of teaching, to be fair to our dogs, to base their learning on the relationship between us, and to use whatever treat, toy, or tug that motivates your individual dog. And best of all, it’s FUN!!”
- RevolutionDog, LLC - offers private training at a time and location that is convenient for you. Using only humane training methods and the objective is to train your dog and address any behavioral issues, while also strengthening the human/canine bond.

“Delise provides common-sense solutions for public safety and sheds light on current media bias involved in the reporting of dog attacks. A compelling and thorough analysis of reckless owners and dangerous dogs in America. A must-read for any public official concerned with increasing public safety” Ledy VanKavage, Senior Director of Legislation and Legal Training, ASPCA
Dogs are dangerous. And they are more dangerous to children than to adults. Not as dangerous of course, as kitchen utensils, drapery cords, five-gallon water buckets, horses, or cows. Not nearly as dangerous as playground equipment, swimming pools, skateboards, or bikes. And not remotely as dangerous as family, friends, guns, or cars. Here’s the reality. Dogs almost never kill people. A child is more likely to die choking on a marble or a balloon, and an adult is more likely to die in a bedroom slipper related accident. Your chances of being killed by a dog are roughly one in 18 million. The supposed epidemic numbers of dog bites splashed across the media are absurdly inflated by dubious research and by counting bites that don’t actually hurt anyone. Even when dogs do injure people, the vast majority of injuries are at the Band-Aid level. Dogs enhance the lives of millions more people than even the most inflated estimates of dog-bite victims. Search-and-rescue and cancer-detecting dogs save significant numbers of human lives, and assistance dogs enormously improve the quality of many more. Infants who live with dogs have fewer allergies. People with dogs have less cardiovascular disease, better heart attack survival, and fewer backaches, headaches, and flu symptoms. Petting your dog lowers stress and people who live with dogs just plain feel better than people who don’t. Yet lawmakers, litigators, and insurers press for less dog ownership. This must stop.
